Milwaukee's Safehouse

In Milwaukee Adam and I visited a family that he baptized that is actually the only Hmong family in the branch still active. It was very nice to visit with them. We drove around Milwaukee and Adam wanted to show me the missionaries apartment in that area, and so we drove through the ghetto of Milwaukee and past Cherry St. a very famous murder street. Adam was telling me that when he was there at one point 31 murders happened over a memorial weekened.  While we are driving he keeps telling me about things he saw, murders, dead bodies, drive byes. Just as we get out of that area our car starts stalling on us. Luckily we stopped at a gas station and Adam put some stuff in the car and it started driving better. That night we went to a famous restaurant that Adam loved to go to. It is called the Safe House and you walk down this alley and you would miss it if you didn't know what to look for.  So once you figure out what door to go into you walk into this room with some pictures, a desk, and a bookshelf.  They ask you what you are looking for as it is an "international Export" company! If you do not know the pass code they make you do all kinds of things before you are allowed in. When that happens the bookshelf opens up. Then you walk into the restaurant that has a bunch of spy memorabilia in it. It is awesome. Leaving was another cool thing. You go into this danger "restricted area" and there is phone booth. You put in a quarter and it says to immediately push some numbers. When you do that the floor next to you opens up to some stairs where you walk down and there is an alarm going off and you walk past a bunch of doors and exit into an alley way! We had a great time! Adam was glad that we finally got to go together! After that we drove to Chicago and stayed the night at my cousin Levis house. We had a lot of fun with him and Shana. It was great to spend some time with them. We went to the last part of institute and then walked around the campus. It was cool to see Lake Michigan. Then we stayed up late talking with them and they were so nice and gave us their bed to sleep in. Levi made us Breakfast in the morning and then we were on our way to Pittsburgh. We drove through Chicago and then made our way across Indianna and Ohio. We decided to take a 20 minute detour and go to Kirtland. I am so glad that we did.
